Everything you need to know about a Jeep lease

The cost of leasing a Jeep will vary depending on:

  • The vehicle’s year and model – Crossover SUVs are generally cheaper than larger, off-road Jeeps
  • The car’s transmission & fuel type
  • Your Jeep’s specs & configurations (e.g. trim, colour, etc)
  • Your lease term – the longer your lease, the lower your monthly payments
  • Your advance payment – making a larger initial payment reduces your monthly payments
  • Your car lease provider.

For the best-selling Jeep model in our database — the Compass — leasing starts from around £345.96 (ex VAT) per month over a 48-month term, with an initial rental payment of £4,151.52. In this case, the initial rental is the equivalent of 12 months of payments. There’s also usually a processing fee.

Jeep leases typically include a mileage limit, with additional costs incurred for exceeding this limit. For the Jeep lease deal above, the annual mileage limit is 5,000 miles. The excess mileage charge is 8.39p per mile. Lease costs and charges will vary between providers; the above is just an example.

Additional costs apply if you select maintenance packages, roadside assistance or add-ons for your Jeep lease (e.g. bi-colour metallic paint, electronic panoramic sunroof, etc).

What’s included in your Jeep lease will depend on whether you lease through the manufacturer directly or with a third-party car lease provider.

A Jeep lease generally includes:

  • Full use of the Jeep for the lease period (which can range from 24-60 months)
  • An allocated annual mileage between 5,000 and 15,000 miles (over-mileage fees may apply if you exceed your set mileage)
  • VED
  • Standard manufacturer’s warranty
  • Scheduled servicing
  • Jeep Uconnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available on select models

Keep in mind that Jeep leases generally exclude comprehensive car insurance. Just like with any other type of car finance, it’s your responsibility to insure your leased Jeep.

Additionally, excess charges may apply if you do not adhere to the manufacturer's servicing or maintenance guidelines or if the car exceeds the BVRLA guidelines on fair wear and tear.

Considering everything (mileage, rental payment, etc.) and comparing car lease deals from various providers, you may find the cheapest Jeep lease deal is on the Jeep Avenger. Leasing can start as low as £232.55 per month for a 48-month term, with an advance payment of £2,790.60.

Here are some ways you could save money on a Jeep lease deal:

  • Shop around: Compare offers from different providers to find the cheapest Jeep lease deal or the most flexible terms — or ideally, both.
  • Skip the extras: To keep costs down, avoid adding extra features or the latest tech to your leased Jeep, as these can increase your lease payments.
  • Negotiate lease costs & terms: While buying directly from a Jeep dealership often means a fixed price, you might be able to negotiate lease costs and terms with third-party providers.
  • Consider leasing a used Jeep: Opting for a pre-owned Jeep can be more economical than leasing a brand-new model.
  • Choose your mileage limit wisely: Estimate your annual mileage and pick a lease plan that suits your needs to avoid excess mileage charges. In the UK, the average annual mileage typically ranges from 5,000 to 7,000 miles.
  • Look into salary sacrificing: If you're eligible, using your employer's salary sacrifice scheme to pay for your Jeep lease can result in significant tax savings.

When your Jeep lease ends, you’ll have a few options:

  • Return the Jeep: You can return the vehicle to the leasing company, where it will be inspected for any damage or excessive wear and tear. If you've exceeded the mileage limit or caused more damage than normal, you may incur additional charges as per your lease agreement.
  • Lease another Jeep: You can upgrade to a newer, more advanced Jeep model or switch to a different car brand.
  • Extend the lease: Some leases provide the option to extend the term. If you’re satisfied with your current Jeep, you can opt to continue the lease by signing a contract extension, which may include an administrative fee.

You may have the option to lease a Jeep with no deposit by selecting the lowest advance payment, which is typically equivalent to your monthly payment. This allows you to avoid a large upfront cost. However, be aware that a lower initial payment will result in higher monthly payments over the lease term. Your ability to secure a no-deposit lease, as well as the terms, will depend on your credit score.

To qualify for leasing a Jeep in the UK, you must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Have a full driving licence
  • Have a good credit score
  • Have an income that’s sufficient to cover your lease payments.
